Hybrid-Online Program

With the hybrid-online program learning format, students attend their courses primarily online and have one required traditional in-classroom session per quarter at the LVC campus. Some courses may require additional in-classroom sessions.

The AS Accounting Degree program provides training to teach students critical skills, including how to:
- analyze and classify financial data
- journalize and post transactions
- prepare financial statements
- complete practical bookkeeping tasks using applications such as QuickBooks
- use Microsoft Office applications including Office and Excel

Graduates are prepared to obtain a portfolio of relevant professional certifications upon graduation. Professional certifications demonstrate your knowledge and skill level to prospective employers, thereby increasing your employment opportunities. The Accounting program at Las Vegas College follows National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers (NACPB) and Accounting Training Unlimited (ATU) curriculum to prepare students for several professional certifications offered by the National Bookkeepers Association (NBA).

At LVC, our mission is to provide focused, relevant career training in a relatively short period of time to prepare students for employment in the workforce. The AS Accounting Degree program is designed to be completed in as few as 24 months; students may choose to accelerate their training and complete the program in just 21 months.

The AS Accounting Degree program prepares students with a comprehensive set of skills necessary to become employable in entry-level positions such as accounting clerk or bookkeeping positions in areas such as payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax and general bookkeeping.

Yes! While the school cannot guarantee employment upon graduation, LVC assists every graduate in the search for the employment for which he or she has been training. The Career Services Department hosts career fairs and on-campus interviewing sessions, helps students prepare for job interviews and complete job applications, assists in the preparation of effective resumes and cover letters, provides professional development and individualized job placement advising. You come to LVC with a goal, and we will give you the training and support to make it happen.
Yes! At LVC, we are monitored on the quality of our programs and instruction, and our student success, by our accrediting body, the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).
